How would I approach my parents about going to Texas to see a friend?

I am 14 and I live in Cali. I want to go to Texas to see a friend that I have known for 3-4 years but never met him in person. I have talked to him over


the phone and such. I don't know how to approach my Mother about going down there to visit for 3-4 days. As his parents will provide a room for me in their house.How would I approach my parents about going to Texas to see a friend?
I hope you don't mean alone? You are too young for that.
