How do i get my parents to let me have a lizard?

I have enough money to buy one and to take care of it for a while. I told her I will pay for the whole thing. Our family has two dogs and i am the only one that takes care of them i feed them i pick up their dog poop and everything. How do i get my parents to let me have a lizard?
Well first, you want to specify what kind of reptile you are wanting them. Some have such exacting care...one thing is off and it dies a painful death. wnyherp.org has some great care sheets and so does petco.com petco has a checklist for everything you need to buy. look up the exact information but these are probably the things you need to buy

heating bulb

basking bulb

infared night bulb

uvb/uva emitting bulb

20-55 gallon tank depending on what you want

substrate

water dish

food dish

climbing branches, vines, hiding areas

thermometer

humidity gage

weekly food

calcium supplaments...

things to hold all your bulbs in....

its very costly buying everything first, and i think thats how you can show youre mom, buy one big part each week, or a couple little parts each week, get everything set up and show her how well you organized everything. then say...mom %26amp; dad, i really love the looks of my terrarium, can i get my pet now? A Bearded Dragon would make an awesome starter pet, just research everything and show your parents you are capable of seeing when its healthy or when its not.... and when its not let them know you can afford to take it to the vet.... or just wait until you move out.... either way....research and buy everything first...and then get the reptile. How do i get my parents to let me have a lizard?
Ha ha! Kids.
tell them that u will take good care of the lizard with out there help.
well it depends on what sort of lizard you want and i am sure you know its not as easy as a cat or dogs. So i would find the type you want, do as much research on it, find out if you got the space, can you cope with the high humidity some need, if it needs live food which most do can you store them and feed the food. some are not east to tame. Try spending a couple of days with someone who has them so you can feed them and clean them out etc. If its your first lizard you may want to choose an easy one like a leopard gecko there small, cute, easy to clean out, easy to feed, don't need additional lighting other than a sense of night and day, etc. you could also find a animal care college they may let you help out for the day or something.
hi,

they are sacred of lizard make ur parent familiar to lizard

tried 2 show the good point of it . if ur friend have it tried to bring home ad let ur parent touch it after some time u will find the changes in them.

best of luck
It seems you have enough responsibility for a lizard. My parents did not want me to have a lizard either. I just kept telling them that I had enough responsibility to care for em.(other than the fact that my allowance is crickets. lol) Just be perserverant! :D
easy. dont tell them.

tell them ull buy a pet crocodile instead
Tell them to get you one on a trial basis. That means that you get it for a week, and they see how you take care of it. Then, they might say yes. Also tell them that lizards are the longest living pets, so they wont die untill your an old man. Would that make it mor sad??? (Sorry, Are you a girl? Then an old woman.) :-) Hope thiis helps and have a great day!

-question001
Tell your parents that you will keep it in your room and the first time that you don't take care of it than you will find it a new home. I believe kids should be able to have a pet of there own as it starts them with responsibility and make sure you buy everything it needs from your money.
tell them that you will take care of them hold them and u clean everthing else that u think u have earned responsibility
well it depends on weather or not your parent even like reptiles to begin with they may be trying to stall long enough for you to forget about it but if your serious about getting a reptile show them how your ready for a reptile by reading up on the creature and check out what it would take for the lizard to be comfortably housed
Save your money for the college fund. After you graduate and get a job you can buy all the freaking lizards you want.
