How do you convince your parents you want a dog when you already have three?

I fell in love w/ the puppy in the window but i already have 3 at home, i would love MY OWN dog but how can i convince my parents im responsible enough to get it ?How do you convince your parents you want a dog when you already have three?
%%%First of all check out three books from the library about dogs and dog training. When talking with your parents, just bring up casually something that you just learned from the books.

%%%Ask them if you can volunteer at your local shelter to help dogs, and learn more. (most shelters have a petting room, or a dog walking program, and need volunteers to just give animals attention)

%%%Study the books about choosing the right breed for your family, and comment on this often to them.

%%%Ask if you can give a dog from the shelter foster care for a week to see how a new dogs fits in your family

%%%Do ALL chores as soon as asked

%%% Keep your room clean, and show that you are growing up and accepting responsibility

Then, if your parents don't allow you a dog, you need to realize that it is THEIR choice..They will be the ones ultimately and legally responsible for your pet..dogs live to be about 15 years old, with good nutrition..so your parents will have to face caring for the dog in its old age, if you are off to college or marry a military person, or live in a large city where you can't have a pet..

It costs at least $450 per year to keep a dog, for shots, worming, food, plus any emergency vet care...It is your parent's carpet to be ruined, furniture to be chewed, vacations to consider boarding, obedience classes to drive you and doggy to, sleepless nights to put up with....

Dogs are a whole LOT of problems and responsibility! If you get a medium to large dog, your parent's insurance rates will go up..

So, if they still say 'NO' you need to be mature and thoughtful enough to accept it...and to know they aren't refusing just out of meaness..How do you convince your parents you want a dog when you already have three?
When you learn that ';the puppy in the window'; isn't a good idea. You should go volunteer at the local animal shelter if you want to play with puppies. Where will the dog go when you go away to school? You are responsible to get a dog when you can afford it.
I do the same thing to my mom she usually says no but I talked her into keeping 2 labs a guy gave us so we now have 6 dogs. I would suggest helping alot with the 3 dogs you have now your parents will think you are more responsible if you go out and pick up dog messes or something without being asked. Play with them when you have spare time. My mom always says who's paying and stuff like that, you should help mow the lawn or something for some allowance to help pay for dog food and treats they will think you are responsible to buy things for the dogs. If they do get you a dog remember the puppie is like a baby you cant just like it for a few weeks you have to take care of it all the time.
You don't. All puppies are cute and you can't have them all. Most cities have a limit on how many you can have anyway.
This is easy. Start being the main caretaker of the 3 dogs you already have. Feed them, walk them, clean up after them, take care of them. My daughter convinced me to let her have her own puppy and then she lost interest after the first couple weeks and she never took care of it, so now I'm taking care of FOUR dogs instead of 3. The main reason parents don't want another animal is because they are afraid you'll have fun with it for awhile and then they'll end up caring for it..more work for them. Show them how responsible you can be.
Tell them that you will take full responsibility of it.When I fell in love with the first dog I saw and it wasn't easy for me to convince my parents to get it.Tell them that you will do extra chores around the house and stuff like that.I hope you get the puppy you want.
Falling for a puppy is one thing but think of how it would affect your relationship with your other dogs...and what about the expence? Just how responsible are you really? Do you have a job? Do you pay for the vet care as well as the food, etc? I would only push the issue IF; you are almost ready to move out of the house and all three dogs aren't ';yours'; to take and you have the ability to care for them properly(I don't mean just remembering to feed them).
Hehe. Thats what I did when I wanted 6 more rats! I begged my mom saying that I would do ANYTHING!! And they would totally be my responsibility. Show them how responsible you are with the dogs you have.

Good lick!!
