How do I convince my parents to get a puppy?

any help? at all? please? pretty pretty please? How do I convince my parents to get a puppy?
No means no - respect that mom/dad don't want the dog and let it go. YOU may want or feel ready for a dog, but YOU are not the only one in the home. Mom and dad have to think about the whole family, not just you (or them.)

What if they don't feel ready for a dog? What if they don't feel they have the extra money for vet fees, emergencies? What if they're worried about job loss, pay cuts, etc?

What if they just don't want the responsibility? Or to risk YOU not pulling your end of the bargain (so to speak?) What if they don't want to risk feeling overwhelmed?

What about school? What happens when you get a job? What happens when you have BOTH? Plus outings with friends, studying, parties? What about vacations, emergencies? Who will take the dog?

What about when you want a car? Go to college? What if the college you choose doesn't have pet friendly dorms? Won't allow freshmen to live in apartments? What if mom/dad won't spring for an apartment due to prices? What if you can't find a dog friendly apartment?

That's a lot to think about, and it's just the basics.

You're essentially asking them to buy you something expensive. Something that will continue to be expensive. If they don't WANT to, then that's their choice - they worked and earned the money, after all.How do I convince my parents to get a puppy?
