What religion are my parents supposed to be?

When it's Chinese new years or close close to it my parents make us bow 2 or 3 times to this shrine with some lady in it. We don't really do anything else except have a special dinner and follow some old traditions such as getting haircuts before chinese new years and we get money(red envelopes) from my parents. What religion are my parents supposed to be?
Maybe they're just celebrating the new year in a secular way the same way that some people who don't believe that Jesus was the son of God still celebrate a secular Christmas. What religion are my parents supposed to be?
They are suppose to be Christian. That does not mean they or you have to go to a church. You can be a Christian without going to a church. The shrine and lady have no power. They are idols. Instead pray to God thanking Him and telling Him you believe. Thank Him for forgiving your sins (bad things you do little and big), and that since you believe, you are going to constantly try to do what is right. Tell Him your problems and ask Him for help with certain things, telling Him to do it His way. When you look at all the facts, Christianity is the real religion. Dr. Gene Scott proved it in his writings, how there can be no denying the facts, as he went through many in detail. You could look at it when you get much older. He is not alive now. Many other religions do good things, but they are based often on things made up by people. One person starts something, and it grows. But there are many things in Christianity that can be proved that happened, from history records, sometimes very complicated to see the connection of things. But, the most evidence available, and many believers if you like that reason but not needed, so why not go with it.
It is more of a tradition of the Chinese and Japanese people to celebrate the new year and new start of the year. It is widely done in Hawaii (oahu)
They could be Buddhists or this could just be Confucian tradition.
tell them that that is their religion and backward beliefs and do whatever you want
Buddhist
some nutty religion
You're lucky that they aren't overly religious. Be thankful for that, because it could be SO MUCH WORSE.
Ask your parents.
Why don't you ask your parents? Weird that u don't know!
they are supposed to be the ones they think fits them best..
