How do I let my parents know I never want to wear shoes again?

I really really want to be barefoot all the time i dont care about the health risks it feels sooooo good. How can i convince my parents to let me do this?How do I let my parents know I never want to wear shoes again?
It will depend on how you think they'll feel about your decision. They might be hostile to the idea, but then again they might turn out to be a lot like me. I'm totally happy to have my boys go barefoot everywhere, because having boys go barefoot is an old tradition that's been followed in my family for generations, and I really want to have them carry it on. Wanting them to be able to go barefoot is in fact the main reason I've chosen to homeschool them. There really aren't any health risks at all, but there's a good deal of prejudice, and and a crap load of misinformation and outright lies out there that you may have to confront and overcome if you are going to live a totally barefoot life.

I'm totally on your side, but I'd like to see you do a bit of ';homework'; on the subject before you go to your parents with this, because if you show them that you've prepared yourself, and that you know what you're talking about, they're much more likely to respect your intentions.

First off, there's a great book on going barefoot that I found for my boys, and you can also read it on line:

There's also a web site dedicated to the parents of young barefooters:

And some others I want to reccomend to you, so that no one will be able to give you any crap about ';state laws'; or ';health codes'; that really don't exist, or the supposed ';dangers'; of going barefoot.

Could you please have a look at my own question on going barefoot and try to answer it?

Good Luck!

How old are you? You may have to put up with it sometimes depending on your parents' beliefs. The best way to know is to ask them how they feel.

Just go barefoot as much as possible and then when you are old enough to live on your own and make your own decisions, then it is up to you.
I know what you mean, I wear shoes as little as possible, lol, but unfortunately you would get kicked out of school and never be able to get a job, so unless you live in a forest commune, I don't think you'll be able to persuade them:-)
You can't go barefoot all the time. Thats just the way it is, and in ten years when your feat ache you will realize how silly an idea that is. But as it is suck it up and wear flip flops when you are out.
start out with ';i wanna do something that will render me virtually unemployable';

that'll get their attention
Just tell them that you'd like to take up the barefooting lifestyle. Here's more about it:
