How do I convince my parents to let me get a job?

The job is basically a secretary kind of deal, it would only be for the summer. Dad is focused on preparing me for a computer type career. He wont listen to what i have to say. He knows I don't care for computer engineering, but for some reason i've selected a major in it.How do I convince my parents to let me get a job?
