Well, I wasn't born very long ago, but I'm sure the 50s were more fiscal, conservative, and strict. Today you just buy your kids a **** load of learning software and sit them down in front of a television.Parenting now compared to the 50's?
In the 1950s, the mother basically raised the kids because she was home and the father was working. But the father often did the discipline. So you could compare and contrast who did what in parenting.
Discipline has also changed. Spanking used to be big, but now it's actually a crime (child abuse) is some places. Compare methods used then and now.
