How could I convince my parents to let me have a siberian husky?

I am a high school junior. My old dog ran away the day before I moved because some idiot let him out (not me). I love dogs and I like to have a companion to play rough with. We have 2 cats. Advice please. How could I convince my parents to let me have a siberian husky?
Why don't instead of looking for a specific dog, you volunteer as a foster parent at your local animal shelter? That will not only help lots of animals, but show your parents that your commited to responsibility. As a foster you take care of the overflo animals the shelter would otherwise euthanize. You would of course need parent permission, however if things don't work out and you realize its too much to handle you can take the dog back and dont have to worry about finding it a new forever home. How could I convince my parents to let me have a siberian husky?
These are expensive, very demanding dogs: yes they can be friendly, but they have much more ';wolf'; in them than most breeds and can be tempermental and even dangerous at times. Do a bit more research before setting your heart on this particular breed. You have to also consider can your parents easily afford such an expensive breed: if you get one it should have good bloodlines and not come from a ';puppy mill'; with poor conditions. If your parents really can afford such a dog, then do your homework well, present what you've learned to your parents and make as good a case as you can. // If you DO end up with one, be consistantly kind yet firm with it: such a dog must learn to respect you as well as like you - you have to be in control or else nasty things could happen with such a strong and sometimes ';difficult'; breed.
Realize that Siberian Huskies are dogs for experienced owners. They require a lot of exercise, walks, playtime and act like puppies for years. It might get old fast. They get into things, chew, tear things up, shed. You will want to research this breed REALLY well. Spend time with a breeder, and spend time with the adult dogs for a while. Some adults are stubborn and not the friendliest either.

Also they sometimes are not good with cats, even when raised with them, so be careful
siberian huskies require a leader! as they're pack animals. if you're not experienced with owning a dog, please do not get a husky.

if you're not responsible to keep your own dog from running away, then a husky isn't for you

huskies are escape artists! they'll get away if you're not careful or responsible

heres a site that will teach you more about sibes and why you shouldnt be getting one. they're very high maintenance dogs

Choose a different breed.

You have cats! A siberian WILL kill a cat. Especially if you teach it to play ';rough';.

Try a lab...
