According to this website, you must be 21 years old to pierce or tattoo without consent in South Carolina.
I know it use to be 16 yrs old and should still be since it wasn't that long ago that my tattoo artist told me that but some have decided due to parents complaints that they would still prefer for you to be 18 yrs old even though its legal at 16 yrs old.
